LOVITT Homes 4 Education is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes in accordance with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. More specifically, LOVITT Homes 4 Education is dedicated to assisting local schools, students, and teachers from low-income families with reducing school related expenses.
On April 13, 2020 a month after school closings during the COVID-19 global pandemic a call was received from a friend at South Dade Middle School. During the conversation she mentioned four families that were struggling with basic human needs such as food, proper hygiene, and trouble keeping electricity on. We knew we had to do something!
Using social media platforms such as Facebook, we posted a post asking for help........and OMG, support we did receive. Many people reached out to us privately asking "how can they help". People that we have never met or spoken to somehow found our number and called to see how they could help.
So much was donated that we not only helped those four families but we were able to help other families in the Homestead area, many living in low income housing trying to pay the rent instead of putting food on the table.
Out of this global pandemic LOVITT Homes 4 Education was established to help students and teachers to reduce the cost of education expenses.
Many students are not able to afford new school uniforms. Teachers notice students who wear the same uniform week after week. It is our mission so we are looking to raise funds to purchase two (2) complete sets (Polo Shirt, Pants/Shorts, and Belt) for 50 students. Including a book bag filled with school supplies.
We are looking to raise funds to assist teachers with supplies and curriculum support for their classrooms. Many teachers struggle each year to create an engaging learning atmosphere for their students. Majority of teachers use their own money to purchase classroom supplies. With assistance we together can help many students by helping at least one teacher.
Free public education is not FREE! Many schools require fees such as an art fee, music fee, PE uniform. Many students from low-income families can not afford those fees. Those students can't afford to pay for field trips, yearbooks to remember memories, school supplies, uniforms, etc. For those less fortunate we would like to take the burden away from those families.
